Simon Batty

Student Manager, Year 10

Mr Batty has been working with young people for over 20 years now. He has a background of informal education and pastoral care and is one of the longest serving student managers at Forest Gate Community School. He is responsible for the management of over 250 students in year 10, working collectively with the Head of Learning.

Mr Batty provides leadership and management for all students to ensure high standards of behaviour, attendance, learning, achievement, guidance and welfare, according to the school’s policies and procedures.

As a Student Manager for year 11 (2016), the pupils achieved the best ever results in the history of the school, achieving 76% GCSE exam results. He contributed and played a key part in Forest Gate Community School’s success in being rated the 6th highest performing school in the UK and rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED.  

He currently holds a number of professional qualifications in his field of work, including; CPD Certified, Level 3 in Mental Health & Young People, City & Guilds Level 3 in Working with Parents (parent advisor), OCR Level 3 NVQ in Learning, Development and Support Services for Children, Young People and Those who Care for them.
