Newham Athletics Championships
On Tuesday 22nd May the top athletes from FGCS participated in the Newham Athletics Championships. Over the course of the day we collected 6 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. 23 different students came away from the event with a medal. Stand out performances came from Henry Houghton (Year 10) who won double gold in the 800m and long jump, Shadrack Boakye (Year 9) who won a superb gold in the 800m and Xavier Corkill (Year 8) who cleared a massive 1.61m on the high jump to claim silver.
Well done to all of those who participated in what was an extremely successful day!
