Gothic Literature Day
Friday 3rd November was Gothic Literature Day at FGCS. There was a buzz about the place and some brilliant fancy dress efforts. When discussing the theme, six students separately said they had been inspired to read a book thanks to the teachers who had dressed up!
Other events included creative writing sessions in the Library, where our Year 7 pupils described the outfits as “ghastly and blood-curdling”! The Student Council ran cake stalls and a ‘guess the sweets in the jar’ game to raise money for charity, and there was some brilliant face painting from the Year 7 Art Club.
It was a fantastic day, with a lovely atmosphere. Events like this really get to the heart of who we are as a community school, inspire the pupils and create lasting memories for them to enjoy.
